PS5 analog stick replacement in Warsaw Rembertow
If your PS5 DualSense controller moves by itself, the camera drifts or aiming pulls to one side, the analog stick may be worn. I replace analog modules in PS5 controllers, solder under a microscope and test the controller after repair.
Stick Drift in PS5 Controllers
Stick drift occurs when the analog stick sends movement signals to the console even though you are not touching the stick. This can manifest as character or camera self-movement, axis drift, or failure to return to the neutral position.
Drift often results from wear on internal potentiometer tracks, dust accumulation, mechanical breakdown, or contact failure. In many cases, replacing the worn analog module is the most reliable solution. The repair scope is determined after evaluating the controller.
What Does the Replacement Include?
- disassembly of the DualSense controller,
- inspection of the PCB and analog module condition,
- desoldering the worn analog stick module using a dedicated desoldering tip,
- soldering a brand new analog stick module or compatible TMR magnetic module,
- inspecting solder pads under a microscope and board cleaning,
- testing analog stick response and axis movement after repair,
- informing the owner if any additional issues are found.
One Analog Stick or Two?
If drift only occurs on one stick, there is no need to automatically replace both. Replacing both sticks during the same repair can be considered if the second stick also shows signs of instability or to avoid disassembling the controller twice.
Replacing both analog sticks in one controller as a package is more cost-effective than opening the controller a second time later on.
Optional Upgrade: TMR Magnetic Analog Sticks
For DualSense controllers, compatible TMR magnetic analog modules (such as TMR V14) are available as an optional upgrade. Unlike traditional potentiometers with resistive carbon tracks, TMR modules use magnetic, contactless position sensing.
By eliminating physical wear on the resistive track, TMR technology removes the primary cause of potentiometer stick drift and can significantly increase repair durability. Following TMR module installation, checking and calibration using a tool supporting the specific controller may be required. The exact procedure is verified for the given module and pad revision. TMR is an optional upgrade available after verifying compatibility of the specific module and controller.
Risks with Prior Repair Attempts
If the controller has been previously repaired, exposed to liquids, dropped heavily, or subjected to DIY desoldering attempts, the PCB solder pads must be inspected. Torn pads or overheated board traces require separate evaluation and reconstruction under a microscope.

Replacing a single analog module starts from 100 PLN labour, and replacing both modules starts from 180 PLN. Replacement parts (standard or TMR) are priced separately. The price may increase if PCB pads are damaged from prior repair attempts.
